In his environmental practice, Attorney Vander Salm focuses on complex litigation involving air, water, and hazardous waste pollution. His wealth of knowledge concerning state and federal environmental law, his depth of scientific understanding, and his unmatched zeal for vindicating the rights of his damaged clients have earned him a reputation around the Commonwealth as a extremely effective and dedicated environmental litigator.
Attorney Vander Salm’s passion for protecting the natural environment was conceived during his childhood camping trips to Minnesota, where he delighted in the company of moose and bears. His passion grew during his later residence in the African savannah, where he delighted in the company of elephants and leopards. Currently, Attorney Vander Salm delights in the company of his barely domesticated Rhodesian Ridgeback, Willie, who himself would prefer to be on the African savannah, delighting in the company of lions.
